What are the qualifications?

First, you must be at least 60 or turning 60 during your first year of play in the sixties-plus division. The fifties division is currently inactive. Second, you must want to play softball with great people from all walks of life.

It's been 20 years or more since I last played softball. Is that a problem?

Welcome to the club. With slow pitching, wood bats and safety rules prohibiting sliding into base and eliminating player-to-player contact, you'll have a great time improving your athletic skills.

I'm pretty darn good. Is that a problem?

Assuredly not. Every player wants to win and there are many players with developed offensive and defensive skills.

When and where are the games played?

Games are played Tuesday, Thursday and a few Monday evenings June through August at College of the Redwoods, five miles south of Eureka, and behind Pacific Union School next to Mad River Hospital, Arcata, California.

What does it cost to participate?

That depends on the current cost of liability insurance, field use, equipment, officiating, and how a team covers its share of the cost.

How do I get involved?

You're invited to contact the League commissioner (707-982-3223), attend a League meeting or come to a game and speak with a team manager or official.
